More or Less What's more important?

In the readings " The Savvy Networker" and " Its Not Just Who You Know" it seems that networking is not about quantity but about quality. The better your contacts the better your jobs will be and the better your future jobs and employment will be too because they have seem less amount of contacts to get in touch with.
So I must definitely agree with this notion. Why need billions of people trying to help you that might get you no where, but instead have 6 highly valued contacts that can get many jobs in many different areas. Also you just talk about yourself you must talk to them and about them. Ideas are a two way street, which is something I definitely agree with. Everything is now more interactive and you must put yourself out there to be interactive and be responsive to other people.

Internet War

First of I just wanted to say I loved these two articles " Nobel Laureate Says The Internet Makes Us Dumb, We Say: Meh" and "The Digital Emperor Has No Clothes" they were just brilliant there are so many questions to come out of it. I guess where I would like start is audacity to say the Internet makes us dumb that's just ignorant. The better question is it making us more narrow in our focus. I agree that going seeing the world reading a book is good for you and probably better then the Internet most of the time. Its just the beauty of the Internet in looking up whatever you want and finding whatever and saying whatever you want. Freedom is what we want most and that is what Andreen Keen is misunderstanding. There's nothing wrong with elitism I am fine with that. Some people are better then others that's just fact. That doesn't mean thought that people can't express themselves and put down ideas. What is great about the mob Mr. Andrew Keen is that their ideas and words are creating a new era and coming out with new products and creations to make things better. So yes their is nothing wrong with getting knowledge from the elite but that hasn't stopped the amateurs from making something great.
